SRA Spotlight

Sometimes I don’t want to type about myself, so I thought I’d start doing the occasional SRA spotlight. SRA stands for self representing artist. That is someone like me, who makes markets and sells their own art.

This time I am spotlighting Rose Works Jewelry. Ruth (Rose) made the amazing purple bracelet you see. In fact, it is for sale on her blog right now for only $23, and that includes shipping! Knowing how many hours goes into a piece like that, I think Ruth needs to be charging more for her work. But don’t tell her till after I have bought mine. :)

Ruth started making jewelry and beaded pieces in high school. In fact she made all of her own wedding jewelry! Now that is something I wouldn’t attempt… unless I had eloped and I was the only female there that is.

Now I happen to be in a purple mood this evening, so I also picked out this great purple necklace from Ruth’s etsy shop. I think it would be a great match for the bracelet. Along with the purple seed beads are black ones, and black agate chunks for the centerpiece. This piece could be work with a fancy party dress or a white t-shirt for a bit of sparkle. Too fun!

So congratz to Ruth of Rose Works Jewelry for her cool blog and fun etsy store!
