Show this Weekend!

Meet Mike. Mike is a friend of mine, and the organizer of the Foothills Artists and Crafters Association. He does shows year round under the name of Michael Craig Designs. Mike isn’t the best with technology though, so it is better to see his work in person. This weekend we will be at the Pendleton Spring Jubilee!

See the green behind Mike? That is the square where all the artists put up tents and sell their work. But usually in SC in April we have wind and rain, which makes it rather hard to set up jewelry outside because it tends to blow away. So this year Mike rented an unused gallery to sell his work indoors during the Jubilee. He has been gracious enough to allow me to sell my quilts, and my friend Cindy to sell her amazing pottery.

Unfortunately after the gallery closed, the new renter decided he was going to put in a tanning salon (so not a good idea here) and he painted the walls bright pink and green, and the ceiling black. EWWWWW!!!!
So having my quilts on the walls is a good thing because it will at least distract you from the horrible paint! I spent most of yesterday going up and down ladders to hang them.

My pictures aren’t the best, but you get the idea. The piece of driftwood is just lovely, and Mike uses it to drape his necklaces for display. After the quilts were up we started putting up the displays for Mike’s jewelry.
Today we will put up the lighting. There are 2 great big front windows. In one of them will be Cindy’s pottery, and in the other 2 of my quilts and Mike’s jewelry. It looks like this right now:
Mike is such a sweetie, he even had signs made for the window! Today I’ll take more pictures as we get the lights up and the jewelry in place. More pictures tomorrow!
