Spring Flower Murrini Mix

I am going hog wild adding murrini to my Artfire shop.  Chris has taken lovely pictures, and I’ll be adding more through the rest of the week.  If you want some special murrini and you don’t see it, just give me a holler!  And for a limited time (i.e. until I run out) I will be sending a free pair of fuzzy winter socks with each order!

Yep, I actually won a random drawing!  Sarah Hornik had a contest over at her blog, the Glass Slipper.  You had to come up with 3 words to describe her work, then she held a random drawing, and I won!  I get my pick of items from her etsy store. I’m in love with this asymmetric button.  I hope I got first dibs on it, because there were 2 other winners.

Louie and Grace

Jeff Barber is one of my favorite bead artists. This is one of his beads, made with Satake Glass from Japan.  He uses other kinds of glass too, but I really like his Satake ones.  Even better, Jeff is a bulldog lover too!  The frenchie is named Grace, and the big bullie is Louie.  If you want to see more of Jeff’s gorgeous beads, just go to his website!

Necklace using Wordless Wednesday Pendant

Remember that pendant from this week’s Wordless Wednesday?  Well, this is what I did with it.  I’m getting ready for an indie art show at the end of May, so I’ve been making lots and lots of jewelry.  The copper discs and copper chain I got on my last shopping spree, and the stone beads are some sort of agate I’ve had for probably 15 years now.  I have a tendancy to buy things I like then save them till just the right piece comes along.

I wanted to do the copper and agate discs all the way around, but it was starting to get heavy!  So instead I added the chain to lighten things up.  What do you think?

This piece started with the lampwork bead face I made. I added the copper squiggle, and then made the necklace. The stones are ruby zoisite, there are copper beads, and the clasp is copper.

I started a new online sales account at 1000 Markets, where they don’t charge you anything until an item sells. It is strictly for finished pieces of art. I’m still getting things listed, but you can still check it out.

Do you like the new bust I got to photograph necklaces on? Since one of my New Year’s resolutions was to list more items for sale (it won’t sell unless people can see it!) and to get better pictures, I think I’m doing well so far considering it is only March.
