Convergence Entry!
Finally, here it is, my Convergence entry along with the story Chris wrote.
During the Middle Kingdom period of ancient Egypt (around 2000 BC), a popular member of their pantheon of gods was the crocodile headed deity Sobek. He personified military strength and power as well as the fertility of the Nile and was, not very [...]

Have to redo the clasp
As much as I adore how this bracelet worked out, I’m going to have to redo the clasp. The glass button I made is just a little too big for the hole. Drat! I used metal hex beads for this one. With so much color from those, I didn’t think it needed any extra embellishment. [...]

Some projects…..
just don’t turn out like you think they will! This one started with 2 kinds of beads, both with a lavender core surrounded by hot pink. I thought they would go great together, with the different shapes making things interesting. Instead it turned out much more pink than I had thought it would! The button [...]

Look what I found!
I was shopping around Etsy for headbands today, and at the bottom of the page it showed other things I could buy. Imagine my surprise when I saw a necklace made with one of my lampwork beads! Oklahoma Mama made this, and here is what she says:
Oh, purple… how do I love thee? Let me [...]

Sylvie’s Class
Yes, Sylvie has class. She also teaches classes. I took one of her classes over New Year, and we learned to make a cute little ring and a bracelet. Sylvie is a great teacher, and you can see more of her work at her web site. The ring was super cute… i.e. not me. So [...]

Sarah’s Bracelet
This bracelet was quite a challenge! First of all, I had to pick something that would go with Sarah’s button and not overwhelm it. I tried it with purples, but it always disappeared! So I did a clear bracelet, with just a little bit of sparkle in the seed beads, and [...]

First Bracelet Attempt
This was my first attempt at a bracelet using Sarah’s wonderful button that I won a while back. Along the edge is a new color of Swarovski crystal, something-or-other opal. But when I got it done I realized that the purple of the bracelet totally overwhelmed Sarah’s bead. oops!
So I did something I almost [...]

My favorite bead
This is one of my favorite beads that I have made. I’ve had it now for about 3 years, just waiting for the right time to use it. I’m still not sure I want to try and sell it at Crafty Feast at the end of May, or keep it for myself. Maybe I’ll put [...]
