They are some of my favorite ones to wear (especially the olive tones) and some of my favorite glass colors. This is a green pendant I made, and it shows just how hard it is to take a representative picture of boro colors. Boro colors tend to shift depending on what light you see them in. For example Dragon Tears is much more sparkly when you take it out in the sun. This pendant is called Avocado Swirl and the swirl part has highlights of purple in it. Does the purple show? Nope. Rats! But I don’t want to make the lighting a lot better because then if someone opens it under an incandescent light they will be dissapointed. So I guess I do with what I got.

I have been very bad. What with the show last weekend, I have neglected my blog, the forums I usually visit, and my blog! Well that has changed. At least until the 17th when I leave for New Zealand. In the mean time, here is one of the new pieces I just put on Etsy. I call it Dragon Tears. I must admit that the name isn’t all that creative… one of the boro glass colors I used was called dragon tears. Someday I’m going to find a name generator for art pieces and just use that to name stuff.

This is the front and the back of a pendant that I made with Glass Alchemy’s new color, Jamboree. Well, ok, it started out as the foot of a very small vase, but when I went to put the vase in the kiln I dropped it on the floor and it shattered. So I took the pieces of the foot, heated them up, and made them into this! Nothing gets wasted in my shop if I can help it. The rod starts out in a pretty bland brown form. To get the color variations I striped on clear and twisted it into a fat stringer, then coiled it. When struck you get the amazing reds and purples you see in the picture. When reduced the parts that aren’t encased turn the amazing greens and blues. I’m liking this color, and am sure to get more!

For our summer promotion, some of our Etsy Glass Artist (EGA) shops are offering a sampler of our Etsy Glass Artist Street Team members’ gorgeous glass work. I was lucky to receive a neutral collection.

So the listing includes the entire kit and kaboodle of this glassy goodness. That totals 9 pieces from 9 amazing artists. In fact, there is way more than $45 worth of work in the box. It includes beads, pendants, two pairs of earrings, and a zipper pull. OK, so the zipper pull is purple instead of neutral, but I can’t be expected to follow all the directions, can I?

This box contains work by the following artists:

Dogmaw Glass – http://www.dogmawglass.etsy.com
The Glass Fairy – http://www.glassfairy.etsy.com
Shoozles – http://www.shoozles.etsy.com
The Glass Chickadee – http://chickadeebeads.etsy.com
Rhonda Willis – http://www.rwillisglassartist.etsy.com
Groovy Glass Girl – http://www.groovyglassgirl.etsy.com
Studio Marcy – http://studiomarcy.etsy.com
Susan Sheehan – http://www.susansheehan.etsy.com
My Cabin Creations – http://www.mycabincreations.etsy.com

You can find more of the Etsy Glass Artist assortments by using the search tag egacollections. But I think this one is the bestest. Please note, shipping is included- woohoo! Want it? You can take a look at the mystery box here.
