Mud Puppy

Yesterday I won the lovely button from Sarah Hornik. Last night I dreamed I won another drawing. I was so excited! And it felt so real. This morning I opened my mail just to be sure I won another prize, and was disappointed to find out it was just a dream. Ah well, at least I get a cool button!

Puppy Hime had a strange night last night too. She was panting, so Chris took her out, then she got a big drink around midnight. She was hot to the touch, and the things on top of her crate were hot too! Chris took it all off the crate, and put her back to bed. Later she was panting and hot again! So he got the fan going and blowing into her crate to cool her off. After that she was fine. It looks like she is going through another growth spurt, and that is what is making her hot. But she is still our little cutie! Perhaps a very muddy cutie, but a cutie all the same.

My Nephew Henry

This is my nephew Henry. Remember him? He is now 7 weeks old, and as you can see, cute as the dickens! The toy he is playing with is one I sent him. It is a big stuffed elephant, and all over it there are things for him to grab (ribbons, rings, etc). Evidently he is developing quite a grip, since his mommy found a bunch of their dog’s hair in his fist the other day. Sky is such a good doggie she didn’t even make a fuss when Henry grabbed her. Look for more baby later!

Our little puppy

We got to meet our new puppy yesterday! She is so tiny and sweet. She is a bit over 3 weeks old, and has just opened her eyes. She is a bit walleyed, but not to worry, that is normal. For the next couple of weeks she won’t see very well, and at around 5 weeks her eyes will straighten out and she will start to see normally.

This still leaves us with the challenge of naming her! For right now we are calling her Hime (pronounced Hee-meh) which is Japanese for “Princess”. I can tell you that is how she will be treated at our house!

They grow so fast at this age. Hopefully we will get to see her again in a couple of weeks so I can get more pictures. By then she will be showing more of her personality. Right now she is into walking around, napping, eating and pooping.
